Family Room
How do you put all the necessary elements into a room that you use everyday and still make it look great? Hide things. This is the main room of the house as it is off of the kitchen and is used everyday, sometimes all day, depending. So we realized that in order for this room to be functional with kids we had to do and buy some things to make it that way. We painted the room with some friends of ours who gave up their Sunday afternoon to help us. Since there is so much trim work, it took until late that night to do. Whew!! Then it was time for window treatments, and again, my wonderful husband went to work for me and made the arched cornice boards for me. After they were hung it was off to find an endtable for the corner between the sofas. Which was no small task as the sofa arms are high and the long sofa is extra deep, so to find something that appeared to fit was hard. We finally found it and it had storage. So we were able to hide the kids books, kids movies, and other kid toys in this area. Let me tell you all the neighbor kids know where to go to find the movies and toys they want to play with. :) Then to finish the project off, my great husband let me stop off at another great store to buy two lamps and a clock for the room. So, we are happy to say, we now have another room in our house complete. That is until, I get another bee under my bonnet.
